Cozy Christmas-y Oatmeal

Easy Plant Based Oatmeal Breakfast

Red, White and Green garnishes for a Christmas-y Oatmeal

Hey foodie friends! 🌱✨

I called it “Christmas-y Oatmeal” just because the colours make it look festive. Why not have a little fun with breakfast.

This easy plant based breakfast recipe will turn boring oatmeal into a fun, creative, and delicious breakfast option that you and hopefully your family will love.

Just a few simple additions and tweaks can transform plain oatmeal into a delicious, visually appealing whole food plant based breakfast that will keep you full & satisfied. Not to mention all the benefits for your health.

A bowl of oats can also be guilt-free dessert. It's a canvas for creativity, welcoming all kinds of toppings of fruits, nuts and seeds.

Oatmeal is a canvas for creativity, welcoming all kinds of toppings of fruits and nuts.

An edible canvas of creativity

For my cozy oatmeal creation, I topped it with soy milk, vibrant pomegranate (It’s one of my son’s favorites and only available during the holiday season here in Atlantic Canada), shredded coconut, black currants (that I get at the bulk store) and a sprinkle of hemp hearts.

When health meets flavor it’s a visual feast in every spoonful

I'm not a nutrition expert, just a foodie who's baby stepping into the plant-based world. Changing your food habits isn’t a walk in the park—more like a stumble through a maze. Testing and trying new recipes that we can all enjoy as a family is not an easy task. (Husbands and teenage boys can be hard to convert. LOL)

But new habits can be deliciously surprising if you are willing to try, fail and then try again.

This one is a keeper at our house. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
